Dinner of the Dead Decor

Since my previous two postings pertained to decor projects I was working on for Sauce and Bread Kitchen’s (www.sauceandbread.com) Dinner of the Dead, I thought I would share some photos of how the space turned out.
I’m so happy with the results.
This Dia de los Muertos garland looks great above the main counter. It was so inexpensive and simple to make. Read the how-to here- http://slumberingalligator.com/2015/10/dia-de-los-muertos-garland.html

These three characters are the highlight of the installation. I constructed them out of PVC pipe and zip ties. Their heads are paper mache.

Each table is adorned with a handpainted Day of the Dead skull. See how I created them here- http://slumberingalligator.com/2015/10/day-of-dead-skulls.html
With a fresh coat of paint and some gems, I transformed an inexpensive Halloween foam skull into this jolly fellow.
Colorful garlands made from plastic table cloths add a festive touch throughout the restaurant. I made pink ones a few months prior for my flamingo themed birthday. Read all about that party and learn how to construct the plastic table cloth garlands here-http://slumberingalligator.com/2015/09/flamingo-themed-party.html

I hope you’ve enjoyed these photos. If you live in the Chicago area, please treat yourself to a lunch at Sauce and Bread Kitchen. The food and the staff are simply the best.
