Coffee Can Halloween Luminaries

I was recently gifted a bunch of old coffee cans from a friend who thought I might be able to use them for various projects. He was right! I’ve definitely got a few in mind, but these Halloween luminaries are the first. Aren’t they adorable? I love an easy and affordable project. Did you notice they have marble eyes? They look so cool when lit up from inside. Be sure to scroll to the bottom…Continue reading Coffee Can Halloween Luminaries

Pumpkin Pails

I started working on these three pumpkin pails back in September and just now completed them a week before Halloween. So, after all that time and work, I think they are deserving of their own blog post. I’m so pleased with how they turned out. Each one with it’s own kooky style and personality. The first thing I did was pick up these cuttable foam pumpkins at the dollar store. It’s hard to imagine this…Continue reading Pumpkin Pails

Candy Corn Topiary

Let’s be honest. Candy corn is nasty tasting, but so adorable to look at it! I filled this jar up about a month ago and have only ate about three of them. Anyways, their good looks inspired me to make these candy corn topiaries. This craft is perfect if you are in need of some last minute Halloween decor. A forest of these candy corn topiaries would make a wonderful centerpiece. Here’s what you’ll need…Continue reading Candy Corn Topiary

Medusa Head

I’ve always loved Medusa. Although, I’m not really a fan of snakes. She’s definitely a wonderful character to have around during the Halloween season. A few years back, I designed an entire Medusa installation complete with stone figures. Medusa’s snakes were created from pool noodles! This Medusa was much easier to construct. I picked up this female wig head from my local craft store. First, I adhered green tissue paper scraps to the entire wig…Continue reading Medusa Head

Monster Silhouettes

These Monster Silhouettes are sure to give my neighbors a fright. This easy project is an inexpensive way to add some Halloween curb appeal to your home. Use a white colored pencil to draw out monsters or any other Halloween characters on black poster board. Get creative! I love making monsters because there are no guidelines. Just make sure your creature fits within your window frame. Use scissors to cut out your creation and an…Continue reading Monster Silhouettes

Gilded Insect Wall Plaques

A few years back, I edited my Halloween decoration collection. I sold and donated a lot of what I call generic Halloween decor. Don’t get me wrong, I love those items, but I wanted to elevate my collection. Since then I’ve made and try to buy unique Halloween items. Something that will set my house apart from the rest. These Gilded Insect Wall Plaques are the latest addition to my collection. They didn’t break the…Continue reading Gilded Insect Wall Plaques

Dollar Store Foam Pumpkin Topiary

I’m a huge Halloween fanatic. It’s one of my favorite holidays to craft and decorate for. The other day I was scrolling through Instagram and saw the cutest mini foam pumpkin that Brittany Young from Certified Celebrator had picked up from the dollar store and Brittany-fied. She inspired me to transform a few pumpkins of my own and create this pumpkin topiary. Here’s a before picture of the foam pumpkins I picked up from Dollar…Continue reading Dollar Store Foam Pumpkin Topiary

Day of the Dead Skulls

Project construction rolls on for the upcoming Dinner of the Dead at Sauce and Bread Kitchen. See previous post for full details here- I constructed 20 of these Day of the Dead skulls to be placed on the tables. I absolutely love how they turned out. Heres a quick overview of the process. I picked up plastic skulls from Dollar Tree. A one dollar skull- you can’t beat that! First, I applied four coats of…Continue reading Day of the Dead Skulls
