MONDAYS WITH MARK- One Year Anniversary!

Can you believe its been a year of MONDAYS WITH MARK? That’s 52 weeks of projects and then some! I am so proud of my accomplishments this last year. Producing a craft each week is no easy feat. This week, I sat down with my close friend Rick to reminisce about all things MONDAYS WITH MARK. Rick: I’ve enjoyed seeing a new project every Monday. I’m so impressed with your commitment. What are you most…Continue reading MONDAYS WITH MARK- One Year Anniversary!

Stenciled Pallet

I just can’t help myself with these pallet makeovers! A few weeks back, I found three small pallets in the alley. I couldn’t not take them, right? Although, I recently shared a pallet project it was time to get these off the back porch and art the hell of them. So, here we are. The other two are still in progress, but I’m super pleased with the look of this one. The end result turned out great,…Continue reading Stenciled Pallet

Fourth of July Food Labels

The Fourth of July will be here soon! Instead of standing over the buffet wondering what it is Aunt Lidia brought this year, whip up a few of these festive Fourth of July Food Labels to cut down on the confusion. Not only are they adorable, they are also affordable! All of the supplies came from one of my favorite stores, Dollar Tree. This project is so simply to put together and will make a…Continue reading Fourth of July Food Labels

Air Plant Display Frame

Air plants are such a unique species. They really deserve to be displayed in a way that is just as delightful as they are. That’s why I created this air plant display frame. It really draws your attention to their beauty. My friend gave me this discarded wood picture frame he found in an alley. It was perfect for this project. One’s trash is another’s treasure. I gave it a few coats of FolkArt Coastal…Continue reading Air Plant Display Frame

Treetopia Pride Wreath: Alligators in Love

I was so thrilled when Treetopia asked me to be a part of their Pride celebration with so many other talented bloggers. Each week one of us will be sharing our own personal stories along with a uniquely decorated Treetopia rainbow wreath. I haven’t always been as comfortable in my skin as I am now. It was challenging growing up as the gay, weird, artistic kid. It took many tears and many years before I…Continue reading Treetopia Pride Wreath: Alligators in Love

Ice Cream Float Arrangements

Who doesn’t love ice cream? I certainly do! I love it so much that I have an ice cream cone tattoo. The other day while perusing the aisles at Dollar Tree I spotted these super fun ice cream cone cups and instantly grabbed them to craft up these fabulous arrangements. Aren’t they just delicious? How cute would these be at an ice cream social?!? The perfect summer centerpiece. I grabbed 3 plastic ice cream cone…Continue reading Ice Cream Float Arrangements

Cocktail Umbrella Wreath

In honor of the unofficial start of summer, I crafted up this cocktail umbrella wreath. It’s so simple to put together and all the supplies can be found at Dollar Tree. Ok, so, maybe I  did a little more than make a wreath. I mean, if you give a mouse a cookie…! I just couldn’t help myself. The wreath pairs so well with my Sunshine Banner and Beach Ball Lanterns. Throw in a couple decorative items and a…Continue reading Cocktail Umbrella Wreath

Watercolor Paper Lanterns

My friends over at Plaid kindly sent me a couple watercolor paints a few weeks back. I thought it would be cool to decorate a paper lantern light strand with them. I haven’t used watercolor paints since I was a kid. While painting I began to have wonderful memories of watercolor painting with my grandma. I’m pretty certain she introduced me to watercolors. This project was a lot of fun! I used FolkArt Watercolor acrylic paints…Continue reading Watercolor Paper Lanterns

Pallet Mural

This giant pallet sat in the alley by my place for weeks. I kept telling myself that I didn’t need it. Days kept going by and then I thought if it is there tomorrow, I’ll take it. Well, tomorrow came and now I have one hell of a mural. It’s definitely giving me a reason to jump for joy! I love how it compliments the garden. Now, I’m aware that you may not be able…Continue reading Pallet Mural

Rope Rug

I was in need of a small rug. So, in true DIY’er fashion, I made one. I love the bold look of it. It’s almost hypnotizing! You don’t need much to make this rug. Just lots of hot glue, 100 feet of polypropylene rope, a piece of felt (for the underside of the rug), scissors, a marker and spray adhesive. For the ten thousandth time, please forgive my dirty glue gun! Years of use! To…Continue reading Rope Rug
