Succulent decor is so in right now, but can come with a hefty price tag. I’ve seen some faux succulent wreaths online selling for over $100! Would you believe me if I told you that I made this wreath for $26 (plus taxes, of course)?! How? Because, all of the items used came from Dollar Tree. Yes, they sell succulents and in order to make this wreath you’ll need a case of them. I recommend ordering them […]
It turns out that I have a thing for pink plastic flamingos. My love for them goes deeper than I imagined and this flamingo hanging lamp project confirms it. I should have seen the signs. I mean, I do have a life-size one in my home year round and I did throw a flamingo themed party once. Really, whats not to love? They’re pink and kitschy as hell. This lamp though is flamingo perfection. Ok, to make […]
I’m hosting an Easter gathering at my place this year. So, the decorating rolls on. Once again, I was feeling inspired by Peeps brand bunnies and decided to make these giant Peeps bunnies to decorate my mantel. First, I drew a Peeps inspired bunny template onto some paper that was roughly the size of the styrofoam piece I would be making them out of. Next, I cut out and traced around the bunny template onto […]
I added an Easter design inspired by Peeps brand candies to store bought white pillar candles using my hair dryer! Yes, a hair dryer. Learn how I did it in the video below. Also, I didn’t mention it in the video, but you’ll want to cut out around your design once drawn onto the tissue paper before adhering to the candle. Ok, just watch, you’ll see what I mean! Happy Easter, friends!
Happy April Fools’ Day! I wanted to share this harmless prank that is sure to bring a few chuckles to the entire family. I certainly am having a good laugh every time I open up my refrigerator! All you need to complete this gag is googly eyes and a hot glue gun! I picked up all my googly eyes from the dollar store. Isn’t it Eggcellent?!?!?!?
I love decorating Easter eggs. When I was younger, my mom and I would decorate them using the “paper towel trick“. A few years back, my friend Mintie and I made twine wrapped eggs. In this video, I’m showing you how to make sparkly decoupaged Easter eggs using plastic eggs and paper napkins. Check it out!
I wanted to make an inexpensive wreath for St. Patricks Day. So, I headed over to my local dollar store (Dollar Tree) to see what I could find. Jackpot! I purchased a foam wreath, a St. Patricks Day scarf, 8 steams of glittered green carnations and a bag of gold coins. Total spent? $11.00!!! The scarf made for an excellent hanger. The first thing I did was loop knot it on. Next, I begin inserting […]
Carnations are often overlooked, but I love them in mass. They are the perfect flower for this lovely project. If you are looking for a last minute centerpiece for your Valentine’s celebration, look no further. Oh, did I mention this arrangement is constructed in a heart shaped candy box? Yes! Here’s how I put it all together. First, you’ll need a heart shaped chocolate box. My box cost $5 and had 16 delicious pieces of […]
I learned that National Pizza Day is today! So, I felt inspired to cook up this delicious craft. It was super simple to make and turned out absolutely adorable. Here’s how I did it. Get in on a pizza the action! First, I created a triangular shaped template. Then, I traced eight pizza slices on yellow felt and cut them out. Next, I cut out crust and sauce for all the slices. I used a […]
I wanted some additional soft lighting in my bedroom. So, instead of purchasing a lamp, I decided to make one. Nothing says goodnight quite like the moon. I started with a giant round balloon. Round is key. I had this one on hand. I’m not quite sure what size it was, but I can tell you it was big! Any size round balloon will work. Maybe you want a baby moon? I drew a small […]
