Hey, Gators! Do you have a pair of pants that are just a little too long? Well, this project is for you! I’m so excited to be partnering with Aleene’s Glues to show you an easy No Sew Pants Hem using Aleene’s Fabric Fusion. I’ve broken the whole process down into simple steps. There’s also a how-to video at the end of this post.

Supplies:

Aleene’s Fabric Fusion
Iron
Pants
Ruler
Fabric Scissors
Pen
Pins or Clips
Popsicle Stick (Optional)

Prewash pants before beginning. Once pants are cleaned, place pants on and determine where new hem line will be. Mark with a pin.

Turn pants inside out and lay flat. Using the pin as a guide, measure from the bottom of pants to where new hem line will be. Mark a reference dot.

Draw a line to represent new hem line.

Measure one inch down from new hem line and draw another line.

Great, now it’s time to cut!

Cut across bottom line using fabric scissors. Use cut as a guide for other pant leg.

Fold pants a 1/2 inch up. This will help prevent fraying. Press with an iron.

Fold pants another 1/2 inch to new hem line. Press.

Apply Aleene’s Fabric Fusion under new hem. I love how it goes on and dries clear. It’s also non-toxic and has a very low odor.

Use a popsicle stick to help spread glue underneath (optional). If a little gets where it’s not supposed to be, it easily cleans up with soap and water before it dries.

Work your way around entire hem. Pin or clip to hold in place. Repeat ironing and glueing process on other pant leg. Let dry 2 to 4 hours. Machine washable after 48 hours. With Aleene’s Fabric Fusion, the fabric will stay flexible after washing.
