In this posting, I’m going to show you how to turn some ho-hum glass candlesticks into something fab with glitter. Yes, folks! I’ve been working with glitter. Glitter, the herpes of the craft world. But, I have a secret to keeping the glitter on the candlesticks and not on everything else.

Isn’t this mismatched pair fabulous in all their glittery glory?

Ok, heres what you need to make your own-
  • Glass Candlestick Holders (I got mine from the dollar store. They don’t need to match.)
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam Brush
  • Martha Stewart Glitter (This is important. Only use Martha’s glitter. It’s super fine and simply the best.)
  • Container (To catch excess glitter. A piece of paper underneath would work fine too.)

Working in small sections, apply Mod Podge to your candlestick holder.

Sprinkle on glitter, shake off excess…

…and begin a new section until the whole candlestick is covered.

Once fully doused in glitter, set aside and let it dry for one hour.

After it has dried for one hour, cover the entire candlestick again with Mod Podge. This will seal the glitter in place! It will look awful at first and you’ll most likely think you ruined it, but the Modge Podge  dries clear and I guarantee you it will be fantastic.

Shine on!
