Recently I was asked to make decor for a dinner to be held at Sauce and Bread Kitchen (http://sauceandbread.com) here in Chicago. It’s their 5th Annual Dinner of the Dead.

I thought I’d share a few of the projects I’m working on here before the big reveal on October 28th.

I’m so pleased with how this Dia De Los Muertos garland turned out! Would you believe its made from paper plates?

Here’s how I made it-

I found these great paper plates at my local convenience store and cut out the skull on each one.

Next, using Aleene’s tacky glue, I glued down gems on their eyes to give them some additional pizzazz!

Then, using a hole punch, I punched two holes directly across from one another in the top of each skull and strung them on a piece of neon orange mason twine.
