With Spring in the air, I thought the next few blog projects should reflect the change in season. That’s why this floating vase is the perfect project to start with!
Nothing says Spring quite like fresh flowers.

Supplies:
  • Scrap Wood (My piece is 1ft by 1ft)
  • Mason Jar
  • Picture Hanging Wire (strong enough to support the weight of your floating vase project)
  • Wire Cutters
  • Drill/drill bit
  • Stain and/or Paint (Not Pictured)
  • Brush (Not Pictured)

First, paint or stain the front and sides of board to your desired color. My board is a stained a lovely mint color. Once dry, center mason jar on your board and drill two small holes on either side of the lip of your  jar.

Next, towards the top of your board drill two holes directly above the two previously drilled holes.

Circle picture wire around the lip of your jar a few times.

Poke the ends of the wire through the bottom set of holes…

…pull taught and wire together on the back side of your board.

Now that your jar is secure, you’ll need a way to hang your board. Simply run some wire through the top set of holes, tying and wiring it together to create a hook.

Add water and flowers, hang on the wall and admire your new floating vase!
