Conversation Heart candies are a must for Valentine’s Day. They are just so cute! A few years back, I displayed them in this Conversation Heart and Rose Arrangement. This year, I decided to encase them in this heart shaped box.

I picked the heart shaped wood box at Target for $5. I’m sure you can find something similar at a craft store.

I painted it Green. I love this FolkArt Matte Acrylic Paint color. I didn’t want to go the traditional red or pink. This color is a nod to the mint colored candy hearts.

Next, I arranged the Conversation Hearts in the box and adhered them with super glue.

Once the glue was dry, I applied the Envirotex Lite pour-on high gloss finish. I used the 16oz size and used all of the liquid in both bottles for this project.

Be sure to follow all the instructions for mixing and pouring the solution.

Don’t skip over the air bubble removal part. This is how it looked when first poured. A lot of the air bubbles disappear on their own, but there is a silly process for removing the rest!

This was my first time working with the high gloss pour-on. I ended up with a few air bubbles, but overall am so pleased with how this project turned out.

The Conversation Hearts look so cool encased.

I’ll definitely be using this product again. Hugs and kisses, everybody!

  2. That is sooooo cool!!! In fact it’s probably the only way I could use candy in craft projects! Live in South Florida and we have every bug going!!!

  3. What a fun idea! Such a cute and festive tray for Valentine’s!
