I’ve always loved Medusa. Although, I’m not really a fan of snakes. She’s definitely a wonderful character to have around during the Halloween season.

A few years back, I designed an entire Medusa installation complete with stone figures. Medusa’s snakes were created from pool noodles!

This Medusa was much easier to construct.

I picked up this female wig head from my local craft store. First, I adhered green tissue paper scraps to the entire wig head with Mod Podge to create her skin. Working in small sections, brush a layer of Mod Podge onto the wig head and then place a small piece of tissue paper. Then, brush a layer of Mod Podge over top each tissue paper piece.

Once, the entire head was covered, Medusa just needed embellishments. I created her features with tissue paper and glittered foam sheets that I picked up from the dollar store. I adhered them in the same fashion I attached her skin. Her hair is a combination of plastic snakes and black mesh tubing. I pinned the tubing on her head with map pins and hot glued the snakes down. Have fun and be creative!

Medusa’s snakes also came from the dollar store.

I spray painted them in black and gold.

I think she’s absolutely fabulous pictured here with her mummy friend in front of my spider web in a picture frame.

Here she’s serving LQQK’s and snacks. Let’s be honest, she’s fabulous anywhere!
