Have you ever considered putting a Christmas tree in the kitchen? I’m doing just that for a client in his dining room/kitchen combo space.

I can’t think of a better way to adorn a kitchen tree than making creative ornaments out of kitchen items. That being said, I present to you this Utensil Snowflake Ornament.

Supplies needed to make one ornament:
  • Six pieces of plastic flatware (I like the look of the fake silver, but any color will do)
  • Mason Jar Flat Lid
  • Wire Cutters
  • Hot Glue Gun/Sticks
  • Miniature Christmas Bulb Ornament

First, using your wire cutters snip off the handles on all six of your plastic utensils. Use the first cut as a guide for the remaining five.

Then, begin attaching them to the backside of your mason jar flat with hot glue to form a snowflake.

Once all six pieces are glued on, it’s time to add the miniature bulb ornament to the front. Using wire cutters remove the top portion of the bulb and snip off the lip.

Attach the bulb to the center of the mason jar flat with hot glue. I hot glued a piece of twine to the backside of my ornament for easy hanging.

And there you have it, a lovely Utensil Snowflake Ornament that would look fantastic on any Christmas tree. I’ll be posting pics here of all the trees I’m decorating this season. Stay Tuned!
